Relationship Between Incontinence and Disease Severity in Patients Transported by Ambulance

Introduction: As there have been no reports concerning the relationship between incontinence and disease severity in patients prehospital setting, a retrospective investigation examined this using data from Shimoda Fire Department. Method: Patients who were transported by Department January 2019 to December 2021 investigated. The following details of subjects collected: age, sex, contents incontinence, season transportation, weather, wind speed, temperature, place collapse, scene time, classification disease, (as judged physician at receiving hospital) mortality rate initial treatment. divided into groups based on existence or not (Incontinence [+] Incontinence [-]). We compared variables mentioned above these groups. Results: There 499 cases with 8,241 without incontinence. significant differences two respect weather speed. average percentage male patients, winter season, collapse home, endogenous severity, (+) group significantly greater comparison (-) group, while temperature was lower than that group. Regarding rates each neurologic, infectious, endocrinal dehydration, suffocation cardiac arrest had more twice other conditions. Conclusion: This is first study report tended be older, showed predominance, severe high mortality, required long time Prehospital care providers should therefore check for when evaluating patients.
